There are a few memorable milestones in my editing career so far, but none more exciting than October 1, 2016, the day I joined West Coast Editorial Associates as a partner.
Founded in 1992, WCEA is made up of the talented Audrey McClellan, Georgina Montgomery, Louise Oborne, Frances Peck, Yvonne Van Ruskenveld, Merrie-Ellen Wilcox, and Ruth Wilson, and its alumni include some of the best in the biz.
I have admired the professionalism and engaging personalities of this partnership and their editing, writing, and training work for years. Their collective client list and project portfolio is second to none, they have great fun working and socializing together, and they are just plain awesome people. I can’t imagine a better group of partners to call mine.
So what does this mean for my own business? I will continue to offer all of the same services and work for the terrific clients I do today — only under the WCEA umbrella, and with the backing of its exceptional team. I also anticipate joining my new partners in projects of larger size and complexity and contributing to building our collective business.
To Audrey, Georgina, Louise, Frances, Yvonne, Merrie-Ellen, and Ruth: Thank you for inviting me into your fold, and for your confidence in me (and for that welcome cake!). I look forward to learning from you, having laughs with you, and doing my best with you, every day, for our clients.
